About

Hi, I'm Kayla!

Welcome to Tiny Sprouts Tutoring! I am a former educator with a love of sharing my joy for reading with students. I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Florida Gulf Coast University. I also obtained my Reading and ESOL Endorsemetns. With six years experience teaching kindergarten and first grade, I am more than equiped to help your scholar blossom into the reader they can be.

My favorite part of teaching is wathcing students develop confidence in their abilities. Tutoring has allowed me to create a learning environment catered to individual or small groups of students, helping me target each student's need with greater accuracy.This leads to further student success and pride in their new found reading abilities. I am happy you're here and look forward to helping your child achieve success.

How It Works

Reading Support for PreK-2nd Grade

Individualized
Each lesson is designed with the child in mind. This increases engagement and helps the tutor create lessons that reflect the students preferred learning style while working at their level.

Sequential
Concepts are taught in a logical order, through well planned structuring. This allows the learner to be successful in a continuous way and promote continued motivation and excitement for learning.

Phonemic Awareness
Through the implementation of the Heggerty Curriculum children are provided with a fun, hands-on learning opportunity that encourages them to learn to recognize, think about, and manipulate sounds in words.

Multi-Sensory
Each session combines visual, auditory, and kinesthetic elements to encourage whole brain learning. This helps activate prior knowledge and integrate new information.

Phonics
Phonics instruction is the building blocks of reading and will give your child the skills to decode almost any word they come across in reading. To ensure engagement phonics will be taught through hands-on activities as well as game based learning.

Decodables
In each session children will be given opportunities to read various texts in which they can implement their new skills as well as enhance their fluency and reading comprehension.
